Whitelands Park
History
Whitelands College used to be a former education college and part of Roehampton University. Designed by the eminent architect of the red telephone box, Battersea Power Station and Tate Modern, the iconic Grade II listed “Sir Giles Gilbert Scott Building” has been meticulously restored by West City as a unique development of mews houses and one, two and three bedroom apartments. Crest Nicholson developed the new build on the site around the iconic building.
Strategy
With a Grade I listed flooring in a Grade II listed building, the developers were not allowed to develop two particular rooms into apartments. The decision was taken that these two large spaces of equal sizing of over 2500 sq ft were to be developed into a library with Wi-fi access and more importantly, a leisure facility.
An onsite leisure facility was regarded as a great sales tool and was the first port of call when potential buyers were shown round the development.
Approach
RCH won the contract to design, supply and manage this development and to deliver within one month of their first pitch to Westcity fulfilling their obligation for a major press launch deadline. RCH manages the leisure facility taking care of all the inductions, health and safety signage, insurance, marketing whilst supplying professional experienced personal trainers and therapists. In order to make the site cost-effective, the facility is not staffed but still offers all the services required with a regular trainer on site as required. Our management packages can include the following and more:
- Health screens
- Gym Inductions
- Fitness Programming
- Personal Training
